A fake smile or A fake feeling?
When i am walking through the crowd, on my way to the rail/metro station, which seems to be rushing in all possible coordinates, seeing the expressions on the faces of people makes me think whether they portray their true feelings. Its not actually so. People tend to put on fake expressions to hide their true feelings, afraid what the society might think if they release their true feelings. Man has lost trust toward fellow men. And what has become of us is this. However bad a person might be feeling, he’ll greet others with a fake smile. Is it needed? Can’t he share what he really feels. Similarly, what one says does not necessary mean what one feels. For example, when you go to someone’s house and they greet you by saying, “Good that you came” they might actually mean “Why did you have to come today?” Saying “Good bye and do come again” might not necessarily carry the meaning of the phrase. It might actually mean “Good riddance to you.” A laugh that people give with what you tell them might actually be symbolic of the bare fangs of a snake. By laughing with you and showing their teeth they might actually mean please stop this non sense or else we’re gonna sting… Man has become the biggest hypocrite against himself. A person who shows his true feelings everywhere is considered a stupid. Easy to call one by that name rather than calling another a hyprocrite, rite? But has all this hypocrisy led to a better society. I bet NOT. The greetings of others have lost the warmth that should be associated with them. People have lost faith in mankind on the whole. The sole essence of expressions has been totally lost because what one seems on the outside is not necessarily what one is inside…
So to move on in today’s world, even I put on a fake smile and claw my way through this masquerading crowd. Hiding what i feel about others, the hatred which i bear, the love which I carry, the music in my head, the rhythm in my soul and yet the ache in my heart… Whats the use showing it to a crowd inspired by fake feelings anyways?
